Resolution of Jammu and Kashmir conflict
The Jammu and Kashmir conflict primarily involves territorial disputes between India and Pakistan, both claiming the region. After British India’s partition in 1947, the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir faced an invasion, leading the ruler to accede to India. This resulted in several wars and ongoing tensions. India administers the region, while Pakistan controls part of it, known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, China claims areas in the region. Diplomatic efforts, international mediation, and local autonomy discussions have not yet resolved the conflict, leaving it a complex issue influenced by national identity, politics, and regional security.
