Theodicy
Theodicy in the context of Philosophy of Religion is essentially an attempt to reconcile the existence of an all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-good God with the presence of evil and suffering in the world. It's a theory or argument that seeks to justify God's goodness despite the apparent contradictions presented by undesirable events or states of affairs. It addresses questions like, why would a benevolent God permit pain or injustice if He is powerful enough to prevent them?
