Defence Theodicy
Defence Theodicy is a philosophical argument that seeks to explain the existence of evil and suffering in a world created by an all-powerful, all-knowing, and benevolent God. It suggests that while God allows evil, He does so to preserve human free will and prevent greater evils. This theodicy defends God’s goodness by arguing that the possibility of moral growth, choice, and genuine love requires the existence of suffering and challenges. Ultimately, it posits that a world without suffering might lack deeper virtues, such as compassion and resilience, which can emerge in response to adversity.
