Augustine

Augustine of Hippo (354-430 AD) was an influential Christian theologian and philosopher. His writings, particularly "Confessions" and "The City of God," explore themes of sin, grace, and the nature of God. Augustine emphasized the importance of faith and the inner struggle of the human soul. He introduced concepts such as original sin and the idea that humans can only find true fulfillment in God. His thoughts shaped Western Christianity and philosophy, bridging classical thought and medieval ideas, and continue to impact theology, ethics, and philosophy today. Augustine is considered one of the Church Fathers and a key figure in Christian history.
