Natural Evil
Natural evil refers to suffering and harm caused by natural events, such as earthquakes, floods, and diseases, rather than human actions. In the context of the Problem of Evil, it raises questions about how a benevolent and omnipotent God can allow such suffering. Theodicy seeks to provide explanations, suggesting that natural evil can lead to greater goods, such as compassion and resilience, or may result from the laws of nature that allow free will and moral growth. It challenges us to consider the balance between natural laws and human experience of suffering in a broader theological context.
