Augustinian Theodicy
Augustinian Theodicy is a philosophical and theological response to the problem of evil, rooted in the ideas of St. Augustine. It posits that God created the world good, but evil entered through the misuse of human free will. According to this view, evil is not a creation of God but a distortion of good, resulting from humanity's choice to turn away from God. Thus, suffering and evil exist because of human actions, not God's will. This theodicy seeks to reconcile the existence of an all-good, all-powerful God with the reality of evil in the world.
