Space Shuttle
The Space Shuttle was a reusable spacecraft developed by NASA that operated from 1981 to 2011. It consisted of an airplane-like orbiter, two solid rocket boosters, and an external fuel tank. The Shuttle was designed to transport astronauts and cargo to and from space, including the construction and servicing of the International Space Station. Unlike traditional rockets, the Shuttle could return to Earth and be flown again, making it a unique part of space exploration. Over its 30-year mission, it completed 135 flights, significantly advancing our understanding of space and technology.
