It involved reusable spacecraft, known as Space Shuttles, which were designed to transport astronauts and cargo to and from space, particularly to the International Space Station (ISS). The program enabled significant advancements in space exploration, satellite deployment, and scientific research. Over its 30-year lifespan, the Shuttle flew 135 missions, contributing to various projects, including the construction of the ISS and the Hubble Space Telescope.
