Scheduled Castes

Scheduled Castes (SCs) are communities recognized by the government in India as historically disadvantaged groups that faced social discrimination and marginalization. They are officially listed in the Constitution to promote their development and protect their rights through affirmative action, such as reserving seats in education, employment, and politics. The designation aims to address social inequalities stemming from long-standing social practices, helping SCs achieve greater social inclusion and equality.
