Castes
Castes are social groups that have historically existed in certain societies, most notably in India. Each caste is associated with specific occupations, social status, and traditions. The caste system structured society into hierarchical categories, often determining a person's social identity and roles from birth. Traditionally, the system includes four main classes: Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (merchants and landowners), and Shudras (laborers and service providers). While modern laws aim to promote equality, caste-related issues, including discrimination and social inequality, persist in some communities today.
