Dalit
Dalits are a social group in India traditionally regarded as "untouchables" within the caste system. This system categorizes people into hierarchical groups based on their occupation and social status. Dalits have faced historical discrimination and social exclusion, which continues to affect their access to education, employment, and basic human rights. In recent decades, there have been movements to uplift and empower Dalits, led by activists and organizations advocating for equality and justice. The term "Dalit" itself means "oppressed" or "broken," reflecting their struggle against systemic marginalization and their pursuit of dignity and rights.
