Jati

Jati refers to the concept of social groups or communities in the traditional Indian social structure, particularly linked to the caste system. Each jati is typically associated with specific occupations, social roles, and rituals. While the caste system is often viewed as rigid, jati can reflect local and regional nuances, with thousands of jatis existing across India. Membership in a jati influences social interactions, marriage practices, and community identity.
