Nizam of Hyderabad
The Nizam of Hyderabad was the title of the ruler of the Hyderabad State in India, particularly from the late 18th century until its annexation by India in 1948. The Nizams were known for their wealth, cultural contributions, and efforts to modernize the region. They governed semi-autonomously under British suzerainty, balancing local traditions with modern governance. The last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Pasha, was one of the richest people of his time. After India gained independence, Hyderabad's integration into the Indian Union marked the end of the Nizam's rule and the princely state system in India.
