Viet Cong
The Viet Cong was a communist-led guerrilla force that operated in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War (1955-1975). They were also known as the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam. The Viet Cong aimed to overthrow the South Vietnamese government and reunify Vietnam under communist rule. They used unconventional warfare tactics, including ambushes and sabotage, and gained popular support among rural populations. Their activities significantly challenged U.S. and South Vietnamese forces, contributing to the complexity of the conflict and the eventual withdrawal of American troops from Vietnam.
