North Vietnam Army (People's Army of Vietnam)
The North Vietnamese Army, officially known as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN), was the military force of North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Established in 1956, it was responsible for defending North Vietnam and supporting the communist National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (NLF), also known as the Viet Cong. The PAVN played a crucial role in the conflict against South Vietnam and the U.S. military, utilizing guerrilla tactics and conventional warfare. After the war's conclusion in 1975, the PAVN helped reunify Vietnam under communist rule, cementing its legacy in the country's history.
