Tet Offensive

The Tet Offensive was a major military campaign during the Vietnam War launched by North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces on January 30, 1968. Coordinated attacks targeted key cities and military bases in South Vietnam during the Tet holiday, a significant Vietnamese festival. Although the offensive was a tactical failure for the North Vietnamese, it shocked the American public and media, revealing that the war was far from over. This shift in perception led to increased anti-war sentiment in the United States and influenced U.S. policy regarding its involvement in Vietnam.
