Combined Action Program
The Combined Action Program (CAP) was a military initiative implemented by the United States during the Vietnam War, aimed at integrating American forces with local South Vietnamese troops and communities. The program focused on joint operations in rural areas, combining combat efforts with civic assistance to win the support of the local population. By fostering relationships with villagers, CAP sought to improve security, provide humanitarian aid, and counter insurgency efforts from the Viet Cong. This strategy emphasized collaboration and building trust to strengthen both military and community resilience against the communist influence.
