People's Army of Vietnam
The People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN), also known as the North Vietnamese Army, is the military force of Vietnam. It was established in 1944 to defend the country and achieve independence. The army played a central role in Vietnam's wars, including against French colonial rule and during the Vietnam War, fighting to reunify the country under communist leadership. Today, it is a modern, professional force responsible for national defense, maintaining regional stability, and participating in international peacekeeping efforts. The PAVN operates under the guidance of the Vietnamese government and is a key institution in Vietnam's sovereignty and security.
