Jihad
Jihad is an Arabic term often translated as "struggle" or "striving." In a general religious context, it refers to the effort to live a good life according to Islamic principles, including personal moral improvement and social justice. There are two main types: the greater jihad, which is the internal, spiritual struggle against sin, and the lesser jihad, which can involve the defense of the Muslim community. Unfortunately, the term has been misused in some contexts to justify violence, but fundamentally, jihad is about personal growth and commitment to faith.
