The Arab Conquest
The Arab Conquest refers to the rapid expansion of Arab Muslim rule in the 7th and 8th centuries following the death of the Prophet Muhammad. Beginning in the Arabian Peninsula, Arab armies swiftly conquered vast territories, including parts of the Byzantine and Persian empires. This expansion spread Islam and Arabic culture across North Africa, the Iberian Peninsula, and parts of Asia. The conquests were fueled by a combination of military strength, political discontent in conquered regions, and the appeal of Islam. This period significantly shaped the religious, cultural, and political landscape of the regions involved.
