Rashidun Caliphate

The Rashidun Caliphate (632-661 CE) was the first major Islamic state established after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. It was led by four caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali. This period is known for rapid expansion of Islam beyond Arabia, including parts of the Byzantine and Persian empires. The caliphate is revered for its emphasis on community leadership, justice, and adherence to Islamic principles. The era also saw the compilation of the Quran and the establishment of administrative and military structures that influenced future Muslim governance. It ended with civil strife and the rise of the Umayyad Caliphate.
