Bajaur Agency
Bajaur Agency is a region in Pakistan located in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), bordering Afghanistan. It is known for its diverse ethnic groups, primarily the Pashtuns. The area has a rich cultural heritage but has faced challenges, including conflict and militancy, particularly due to its strategic location near the Afghan border. In recent years, Bajaur has experienced efforts toward development and stability under government and military initiatives. In 2018, it was merged into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, aiming to integrate the region more closely with the rest of Pakistan and improve governance and economic opportunities.
