Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is a militant group formed in 2007, striving to impose a strict interpretation of Islamic law in Pakistan. It comprises various factions of the Pakistani Taliban that oppose the government and foreign influence. The TTP is known for committing violent acts, including suicide bombings and attacks on security forces and civilians. It emerged partly in response to military operations against the Taliban in the tribal areas of Pakistan. The group has complicated relations with the Afghan Taliban, and has been a significant security challenge for Pakistan and the region.
