South Waziristan

South Waziristan is a region in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, part of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). It shares a border with Afghanistan and has a diverse ethnic population, primarily Pashtuns. The area has been known for its rugged terrain and has faced significant challenges, including conflict and militancy, particularly related to Taliban and other insurgent groups. Over the years, the Pakistani government has attempted various military operations and developmental projects to stabilize the region and address security concerns, especially following its designation as a key battleground in the fight against terrorism.
