Hakimullah Mehsud

Hakimullah Mehsud was a Pakistani militant leader and the head of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an Islamist insurgent organization operating mainly in Pakistan's tribal areas. He became prominent in the early 2010s, known for orchestrating attacks against Pakistani military and civilian targets, advocating for strict Islamic rule. His leadership was marked by militant tactics and an emphasis on establishing an Islamic state. Mehsud was killed in a U.S. drone strike in 2013, which was part of broader efforts to target insurgent leaders in the region.
