Mehsud tribal group

The Mehsud are a prominent tribal group primarily located in the South Waziristan region of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. They are part of the larger Pashtun ethnic community, known for their strong cultural traditions and code of honor called Pashtunwali. Historically, the Mehsud have been influential in local politics and security, often asserting independence and traditional authority within their territories. In recent decades, some Mehsud members have been involved in militancy and insurgency activities, which has attracted international attention. Despite these issues, the majority are rural, agricultural communities maintaining their cultural practices and social structures.
