Baitullah Mehsud

Baitullah Mehsud was a prominent Pakistani militant leader and the head of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a group responsible for numerous attacks in Pakistan. Born around 1974 in South Waziristan, he rose to prominence in the mid-2000s, advocating for strict Islamic law and opposing the Pakistani government. Mehsud was linked to various acts of terrorism, including high-profile assassinations. He was killed in a U.S. drone strike in August 2009, but his influence endured, as he became a symbol of the militant movement in the region. His leadership escalated violence and instability in Pakistan.
