Allah (Islam)

Allah is the Arabic word for God, used in Islam to refer to the singular, all-powerful deity who created and governs the universe. In Islamic belief, Allah is merciful, compassionate, and just, and is not depicted in human form. Muslims view Allah as transcendent and unique, with 99 descriptive names (Asma ul-Husna) reflecting His attributes. The concept of tawhid, or the oneness of Allah, is central in Islam, emphasizing that there is no god but Allah. Devotion to Allah includes prayer, worship, and following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as conveyed in the Quran.
