Ash'ari
The Ash'ari school is a major theological tradition within Sunni Islam, founded by the scholar Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari in the 10th century. It focuses on reconciling reason and faith, emphasizing that while human understanding is limited, divine attributes and the nature of God can be understood to some extent through rational thought. Ash'aris assert that belief in God’s oneness, prophecy, and accountability after death is crucial. They maintain that divine revelation is essential for grasping deeper spiritual truths, thus combining rational inquiry with traditional teachings to address complex questions of faith, existence, and morality.
