Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications built over centuries to protect Chinese states from invasions. Its origins date back to the 7th century BC, with major contributions made during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). The Wall also served as a symbol of strength and unity and facilitated trade, as portions of the Silk Road ran alongside it.
