The dynasty is known for significant reforms, such as standardizing weights, measurements, and even script, which helped unify diverse regions. The Great Wall began construction during this period for protection against invasions. The Qin dynasty, though short-lived, laid the groundwork for future dynasties and is remembered for its authoritarian governance and monumental projects, alongside the controversial legalist policies that emphasized strict law enforcement.
