Yongle Emperor

The Yongle Emperor, also known as Zhu Di, ruled China from 1402 to 1424 during the Ming Dynasty. He is famous for being a strong and ambitious leader who moved the capital from Nanjing to Beijing, where he built the Forbidden City. Yongle sponsored the voyages of explorer Zheng He, promoting trade and diplomacy across Asia and Africa. He also commissioned the Yongle Encyclopedia, one of the largest literary works of its time. His reign is often considered a high point of Chinese culture and power, but it was also marked by political turmoil and military conflicts.
