Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is a historic palace complex located in Beijing, China. It served as the home of emperors and the political center of Chinese government for almost 500 years, from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (1420-1912). The complex is surrounded by a large defensive wall and features stunning traditional Chinese architecture, with thousands of rooms and beautiful gardens. It was named "Forbidden" because ordinary citizens were not allowed to enter without permission. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major cultural and tourist attraction, showcasing China's rich history.
