History of China
China's history spans thousands of years, marked by the rise and fall of dynasties. It began with the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, which laid the foundation of Chinese culture and philosophy. The Qin Dynasty unified China in 221 BC, followed by the Han, Tang, and Song, during which arts and trade flourished. The Ming and Qing dynasties expanded territory but faced internal and external challenges. In the 20th century, China underwent revolutions, leading to the establishment of the People’s Republic in 1949. Today, China is a major global power, blending its rich history with rapid modernization.
