UNESCO World Heritage Committee

The UNESCO World Heritage Committee is a group responsible for identifying, protecting, and preserving cultural and natural heritage sites of outstanding value around the world. Established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), it evaluates nominations submitted by countries for sites to be recognized as World Heritage. These sites are significant for their historical, cultural, or environmental importance. Once designated, they receive support and guidelines to ensure their conservation for future generations, promoting awareness and appreciation of the world’s diverse heritage.
