Qin Dynasty
The Qin Dynasty, lasting from 221 to 206 BCE, was the first imperial dynasty of China. It unified the warring states under a centralized government, establishing a strong legalist philosophy that emphasized strict laws and harsh punishments. The dynasty is known for significant achievements, including standardizing measurements, currency, and script, which helped unify the diverse regions of China. The Great Wall's construction also began during this period to protect against invasions. Despite its short duration, the Qin Dynasty set the foundation for future Chinese empires and left a lasting impact on governance and culture in China.
