Terracotta Army (China)
The Terracotta Army is a collection of over 8,000 life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots buried with China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, around 210-209 BCE. Discovered in 1974 near Xi'an, these figures were created to protect the emperor in the afterlife. Each statue is uniquely detailed, indicating a high level of craftsmanship. The site is part of a larger tomb complex and is considered one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in history, reflecting the power and beliefs of ancient China. The Terracotta Army is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts millions of visitors each year.
