Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Warriors are a collection of thousands of life-sized clay sculptures buried with China’s first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, around 210 BCE. Discovered in 1974 near Xi'an, they were meant to protect the emperor in the afterlife. Each warrior is uniquely detailed, representing different ranks and roles in the ancient army. The site also includes chariots and horses, showcasing the sophistication of Qin-era craftsmanship. The Terracotta Army is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers valuable insights into China’s history, culture, and burial practices during the Qin dynasty.
