Han Law
Han Law refers to a set of legal practices and standards established during the Han Dynasty in ancient China (206 BCE - 220 CE). It emphasized a centralized legal system, integrating principles of Confucianism to promote moral governance and societal harmony. Under Han Law, the state sought to maintain order through clear laws and established punishments. It also aimed to guide leaders and citizens in ethical behavior, balancing strict legal enforcement with the promotion of moral values. This laid the groundwork for future Chinese legal traditions and influenced governance and law throughout China’s history.
