Transtheoretical Model

The Transtheoretical Model (TTM) is a framework for understanding how people change their behaviors, especially regarding health. It outlines five stages: Precontemplation (not thinking about change), Contemplation (considering change), Preparation (planning for change), Action (actively making changes), and Maintenance (sustaining the new behavior). People can move back and forth between these stages, and the model emphasizes that change is a process, not a one-time event. By recognizing which stage someone is in, we can provide better support and strategies to help them successfully achieve their goals.
