Stages of Change
The Stages of Change is a model that describes how people progress through different phases when adopting new behaviors or making changes. It includes five stages: 1. **Precontemplation**: Not yet considering change. 2. **Contemplation**: Thinking about change but not ready to take action. 3. **Preparation**: Getting ready to change and planning how to do it. 4. **Action**: Actively implementing the change. 5. **Maintenance**: Continuing the change and avoiding relapse. Understanding these stages can help in setting realistic goals and recognizing that change is a gradual process, often requiring time and support.
