Ottoman Parliament

The Ottoman Parliament was established in the late 19th century as part of the Ottoman Empire's efforts to modernize and reform its political system. It consisted of two chambers: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The Parliament aimed to represent the diverse populations of the empire and enact laws on various issues. It played a crucial role in the Young Turk Revolution of 1908, which sought to restore constitutional governance. However, its influence diminished during World War I, and the empire ultimately disintegrated, leading to the establishment of modern Turkey in 1923.
