Mehmed Talaat Pasha
Mehmed Talaat Pasha was a prominent Ottoman statesman and a key figure during World War I. As the Grand Vizier, he played a crucial role in the decisions that led to the Armenian Genocide, where over a million Armenians were killed or displaced. Talaat was a member of the Young Turks, a nationalist movement that aimed to modernize and centralize the Ottoman Empire. After the war, he fled to Germany but was later assassinated by an Armenian in 1921, symbolizing the ongoing impact of his policies and the historical legacy of the empire’s collapse.
