Mehmed VI
Mehmed VI was the last Ottoman Sultan, ruling from 1918 to 1922. He led the declining Ottoman Empire through a turbulent period after World War I, when the empire faced territorial losses and political upheaval. Despite efforts to preserve the empire, he struggled with internal unrest and international pressure. His reign ended with the abolition of the Ottoman Sultanate in 1922, leading to the establishment of modern Turkey. Mehmed VI then went into exile in Italy, living the rest of his life away from power.
