First Constitutional Era

The First Constitutional Era in Iran (1906-1911) was a period marked by the establishment of constitutional governance following the Constitutional Revolution. It led to the creation of a parliament (Majles) and the drafting of a constitution that limited the powers of the monarchy. This era aimed to modernize Iran's political system, promote legal reforms, and increase public participation in government. Despite challenges from monarchy and foreign influence, it set the foundation for Iran’s parliamentary democracy, emphasizing rule of law and civil rights. The period ended in 1911 when the monarchy reasserted control, but the reforms remained influential.
