Ottoman political history
The Ottoman Empire, founded in the late 13th century, was a powerful state that spanned Southeast Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa for over 600 years. It became a major political and cultural force under rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century. The empire was known for its unique administrative system, which allowed for diverse ethnic and religious communities to coexist. However, it began to decline in the 19th century due to internal strife and external pressures. The empire officially dissolved after World War I, leading to the establishment of modern Turkey in 1923.
