Vedic Period

The Vedic Period (circa 1500–500 BCE) in ancient Indian history is marked by the composition of the Vedas, the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism. It began with the arrival of Indo-Aryan tribes who settled in northern India. This era saw the establishment of early social structures, including the caste system, and the development of rituals, philosophy, and the concept of dharma (duty). Society was primarily agrarian, and advances in language, arts, and sciences emerged. The Vedic Period laid the foundation for many cultural and spiritual practices that continue to influence Indian society today.
