Mimamsa

Mimamsa is an ancient Indian philosophical school that focuses on the interpretation of Vedas, particularly the rituals and ethical duties found within them. It emphasizes the importance of action (karma) and duty (dharma) as central to life, arguing that performing rituals correctly leads to desired outcomes and societal order. Unlike some other philosophies that seek a deeper metaphysical understanding, Mimamsa is practical, aiming to establish guidelines for ritual practice and moral conduct. It is divided into two main branches: Purva Mimamsa, which deals with ritual and duty, and Uttara Mimamsa (Vedanta), which explores the nature of reality and the ultimate purpose of life.
