Sarcopenia

Sarcopenia is the gradual loss of muscle mass and strength that often occurs as people age. This condition can lead to increased weakness, reduced mobility, and a higher risk of falls and injuries. Factors like inactivity, poor nutrition, and certain health conditions can contribute to sarcopenia. It can start as early as in the 30s but becomes more pronounced in older adults. Maintaining a balanced diet rich in protein, engaging in regular physical activity, especially strength training, and staying active are key ways to combat sarcopenia and promote better health as we age.
