Muscle Tissue
Muscle tissue is a specialized type of tissue in the body that enables movement. There are three main types: skeletal muscle, which moves bones and is under voluntary control; cardiac muscle, found only in the heart and responsible for pumping blood, operating involuntarily; and smooth muscle, present in organs and blood vessels, also involuntary. Muscle tissue works by contracting and relaxing, allowing for movements like walking, breathing, and digestion. Its health is vital for overall body function, and its growth and repair are influenced by exercise, nutrition, and rest.
